I would describe myself as a natural wedding photographer as I like to take a natural and documentary approach to a wedding day. My aim is to capture real moments as they unfold telling the story of the day. The emotion, the love, the laughter! My obsession is good natural light (key to a great photograph) and I love seeking it out! Beautiful natural light makes a beautiful natural photograph!
Although my approach to the day overall is documentary I do love the portrait shoot with the bride and groom. This normally only takes around 20 minutes and is the perfect time to get some great pictures using the best light and location at the venue. Although these pictures are staged I still want them to look natural and beautiful.
It’s also important for my subjects to feel relaxed and to have that connection with the camera. This for me is what makes a powerful photograph.
